Fees

Hand Crafted Tours & ASTC Tours (Clinch Ranger District Region)

 As described in Step 6, the itinerary draft will have an estimate.  The fees on the estimate will be highly flexible based upon what your goals are.  A very physically rigorous trip will have more costs than staying in a A/C vehicle.  Furthermore, gaining access to specific events and people may create more costs, while volunteering for events will reduce costs.  Lastly, when others Collaborate with the trip there will be more cost variability.

Tours begin at a 3 day minimum. 

These prices do not include access to events, food, and lodging.

Unlike Guiding/Transportation these fees provide 24 hour services.

Rough Estimates, with fees/hour        

1 Guest= $650.  $9/hour

2 Guests= $900.  $450/person.  $12.50/hour

3 Guests= $1,116.  $372/person.  $15.5/hour  

4  Guests= $1,296.  $324/person.  $18/hour   

5  Guests= $1,440.  $288/person.  $20/hour 

6  Guests= $1,548.  $258/person.  $21.50/hour

Every additional day adds roughly $216.  At least 10% will be reduced from the grand total.  This will bring down the hour fees, but result in more sales revenue. 

For example, 1 Guest, 4 day Tour: 

$650+$216 = $867(10%)= $87 total savings.  Sub total= $780.  $8.12/hour  

   

If you wish to pay by check or cash, your balance will be reduced by 2.9% from your total. 

Sales tax is included in cost estimates, and final cost of the Tour.

Federal Holidays and weekends will see a daily impact fee.  There are 4 reasons for this.

1.  Help spread out impacts.

2. Improve the tourism experience for locals and those who can only travel on the weekends.

3. To reward those who are interested in spreading out impacts. 

4. Portions of our sales revenue goes to repair impacts on public lands.   

 

Holidays:  $100/day.  

Weekends:  $50/day  (Friday-Sunday)

Weekdays:  $0/day (Monday-Thursday)

Packaged Tours

This structure offers the least pricing variability, and with a stable trip structure.  There are vendors and suppliers along the way that are expecting to render services.  Furthermore, you will be paying a 3rd Party.  ASTC will be there within the package to provide services.

    

 

Reservation

Hand Crafted Tours & ASTC Tours

As described in step 7, in order for ASTC to further collaborate with you and hold your trip on the Tour Calendar, a 25% deposit is needed. 

The wording "reservation" is displayed in the description on the calendar touring event.

This will vary based upon the 3rd party Travel Specialist you work with.

Once the trip itinerary is complete, full payment will be needed for a conformation.  Full payment will be needed 5 days or more before tours take place.  After full payment "reservation" will be removed from the Tour Calendar description.

Other parties that provide services may have their own confirmation structure.

Packaged Tours

This will vary based upon the 3rd party Travel Specialist you work with.  ASTC will be paid by the 3rd Party prior to providing services.  We will notify you once we have received full payment to confirm that we are ready to go.

Cancellation

Hand Crafted Tours & ASTC Tours

If you are no longer able to go on a the tour, there are a 2 options. 

1.  The trip is rescheduled.  However, if other organizations who are to render services can't reschedule you will be notified.

​

2.  The entire trip will be cancelled with no rescheduling.   

​

  

Packaged Tours

Since these are with a 3rd party, ASTC will be notified by the Travel Specialist you worked with.  However, feel free to let us know as soon as you can.  We may be able to still work with you.

Refund

Hand Crafted Tours & ASTC Tours

Deposit:  Since these tours may have personal touches to them, a full refund will not be possible, and will be highly variable. 

However, if a ASTC Tour has a awaiting list, you will receive a refund of your deposit, minus a $5.00 fee, plus any credit card fees that may have been incurred by ASTC.

Full Payments:

We may need to pay Travel Specialists and Guides for their time if they were apart of the planning.  We will try and refund as much of your payment to you as we can, minus a $5.00 fee, plus any credit card fees that may have been incurred by ASTC.  

However, there are no full payment refunds 24 hours before a Tour is to begin.  

There are no refunds for those who no call and no show.

Packaged Tours

This will be worked out by you and the 3rd Party Travel Specialists.  However, let us know how your refund is going so that we can better advocate for you and for tourists in the future.

  

Notes

ASTC is trying to diversity the economy in distressed counties and areas in our service area.  Hand Crafted and ASTC Tours that will inject sales revenue into such counties will receive a $100 discount per day.  To learn about what areas apply see our Adopt an Organization Program Info page.

Flat Fees

Half Day = up to 6 hours.

• $110.00 each for 2 Guest

• $35 for Children (age 8 – 16 yrs)

 

Full Day = up to 12 hours.

• $300.00 for one Guests.

• $200.00 each for 2 Guests

• $135.00 each for 4 Guests

• $120.00 each for 5 Guests

• $110.00 each for 6 Guests

• $100.00 each for 7 Guests

• $90.00 each for 8 Guests

• $85.00 each for 9+ Guests                                  

• $45 for Children (age 8 – 16 yrs)

This will take place once full payment is received.  Full payment will be needed 2 days before the outing takes place.  After full payment "reservation" will be removed from the  ASTC Guiding/Transporter Calendar description.

If you can't make the outing, there are a 2 options. 

1.  The trip could be rescheduled.  Just look over our  ASTC Guiding/Transporter Calendar to find dates.

2.  The entire trip will be cancelled with no rescheduling.

These daily outings do not include 24 hour Logistical; Guiding/Transporter;  and Call support.

Mileage Fees

Federal Holidays and Weekends will have higher mileage charges . 

There are 4 reasons for this.

1.  Reduced Traffic will keep public roads safer. 

2.  Improve the tourism experience for locals and those who can only travel on the weekends.

3.  To reward those who are interested in spreading out impacts 

4.  Portions of our sales revenue goes to repair impacts on public lands.

$15 daily processing fee.

$2.75/mile.  Federal Holidays.   

$2.00/mile.  Weekends (Fri-Sun)

$1.50/mile.  Weekdays (Mon-Thurs)

​

Sales tax included in price.  Mileage starts at the pick up site, not in route to location.    

​

Use of Trailer Adjustment Fee

  

$12.  Light gear

1-3 Bicycles.  Hiking gear.  Food/supplies.  Kayak. SUP.     

 

$25.  Moderate gear

2-3  Kayaks.  Canoe.  SUP. 3-5 bicycles.  Small motorcycle

 

$50.  Heavy gear

SXS, ATV, 2+ small Motorcycles.  1 large MC.   6+ bicycles.  3+ Kayaks.

Reservation

​

There are no deposits required.  Once we read over your Shuttle Planning Form we will determine if we can serve you.  If so, we will reserve your outing for 5 days on the ASTC Shuttle Calendar.  The wording "reservation" will be used.  We may also put other reservations down.  At the end of the 5 days, those who were waiting have the option to pay in full.

Notes

There is a $15 charge for the mileage to meet you or your gear at a location.

ASTC works in 5 states.  There may be times we will turn down a Shuttle venture because the drive is too far away.  Be sure to look over our Shuttle Calendar to see where we will be, AND to find other Shuttle organizations that may help.
