The type of information that we collect

Appalachia Sustainable Tourism Collaboration collects personal information that you provide to us when making a donation, when creating your membership profile, completing a form, or when posting on our forums.

 

Appalachia Sustainable Tourism Collaboration  will also receive, collect and store any information you provide or enter on our website in any other way.  Also, we collect the Internet Protocol address used to connect your computer to the Internet when you login to the membership page and begin using the groups and forums.  This includes the e-mail address; password; computer and connection information.  Each donation purchase history is collected.  That is why we prefer to use the Post Donation Form so we can better track your donation and let you know all went well. 

We may use software tools to collect and measure session information, including page length of visits, page response times to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page.  

We also collect comments, service reviews, and personal profile information and your recommendations.

How we collect information

When you make a donation on our Appalachia Sustainable Tourism Collaboration website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.  Wix collects your credit card information and after several days and deposits the donation into our business banking account.  If promoted by your device, please do not save credit card information when making a donation.

We also gather any information that you key in with the three forms called, Trip Planning, Stakeholder, and Post Donation.

We also look over member profiles for emails so that we can ask later to if you would like to receive the Newsletter that will come later in 2021. 

We also look over Visitor messages to gather information.

Appalachia Sustainable Tourism Collaboration does not make money off gathering information from those who visit our website sites.  We do not make money off advertisements on our website.  Our Wix sites are all void of advertisements.  

Why we collect personal information

Appalachia Sustainable Tourism Collaboration collects Personal and Non-personal information for the following purposes: 

1.  To provide and operate our Services;

2.  To be able to contact our Visitors and Members with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages; 

3.  To provide our Users and Members with ongoing customer assistance and technical support; 

4.  To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal information, which we use to help stakeholders improve their organizational models and improve our respected services.

 

How do we store, use, share and disclose our site visitor's, and Member's personal information.

Appalachia Sustainable Tourism Collaboration is hosted on the Wix.com platform.  Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to take in your donations and services to you.  Your data may be stored through Wix.com's data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications.  They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.  All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by Appalachia Sustainable Tourism Collaboration adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.  PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.    

How we communicate with our Visitors and Members 

We may contact you notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to collect fees or monies owed, to resolved a dispute, to send monthly updates on sponsored organizations, or as otherwise to contact you to enforce the Appalachia Sustainable Tourism Collaboration User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you.  For these purposes we may contact you via telephone, email, text messages, and postal mail. 

We use the essential cookies that come with the Wix site.  We have a cookies consent banner that appears on the main Appalachia Sustainable Tourism Collaboration website.
